Complete the machining for the 1st push down column for Wind Turbine Installation Vessel – 20 July 2024

We are thrilled and excited to have had the opportunity to participate in the machining of the push down column for the state-of-the-art WTIV vessel currently under construction in Singapore.

The fulfilment of the tight tolerance and timeline was made possible through close collaboration between our onsite machining and metrology divisions. Together, we developed the work method for setting the datum points and collecting as-built measurements of the pushdown column using our Faro Vantage laser tracker and Spatial Analyser software.

Achieving tight tolerance for such a long structure posed significant challenges and required careful consideration of the machining and in-progress check sequence to mitigate possible effects from structural distortion that could impact the blending of milling surfaces.

We deeply appreciate the team’s hard work and commitment to excellence. This accomplishment highlights our ability to deliver exceptional results ahead of the planned schedule, with full support at the site.

Well done, everyone!
