Turret Winch Strengthening in Brazil
We successfully enlarged and deepened bolt holes to increase the permissible workload for a turret winch.
- Setup of portable deep hole drilling equipment directly on the turret winch.
- Utilized a single portable machine with customized fixtures for boring, turning, drilling, and tapping, minimizing logistics weight and improving efficiency.
- Final step involved tapping after bolt hole enlargement, enhancing the structure’s load capacity.
Reconditioning of Diverter Shaft (Part of BOP Well Control System)
We reconditioned the inner shaft of a diverter by removing the existing Inconel overlay, preparing the surface for a fresh coat, extending the life and performance of the equipment.
3D Mapping of Swivel Pipe Connection on Buoy in Panama
Using an API laser tracker, we conducted precise 3D mapping of the swivel pipe connection on a buoy to capture “as-built” dimensions for the fabrication of a replacement set.
- Flatness runout of the swivel seating face was measured to ensure proper alignment and functioning.
- Utilized Spatial Analyzer software to help the client visualize present misalignment and dimensions between the swivel and riser, ensuring precision in future installations.
